Thompson at Pelham - Friday, August 29, 2014
RB #5 Moregan Sharp, Pelham

The Thompson Warriors travel to Pelham to face the Panthers in a cross-town rivalry game. Thompson defeated Pelham 31-16 last year while snapping the Panthers five-game win streak between the two schools.

Thompson offense starts with quarterback Zach Brammer. The senior signal caller has a new weapon this season. WR Patrick Haywood moved in from Vestavia Hills and has already made in impact for the Warriors. Last week against Wetumpka, the speedy receiver took a kickoff for a touchdown. Frank Mwakajumba leads the run game for the Warriors.

On defense, defensive lineman T.J. Rayam anchors the defense and looks to stop the Pelham run game.

Pelham opens the season with a lot of weapons with a new quarterback in junior Logan Burnett. The Panthers like to run the football and have a couple of good ones. Senior Moregan Sharp is the key to the Panthers offense. The senior running back can run or catch it at anytime on the field. R.J. McCall can move the sticks or go deep for the Panthers. Usually for the Panthers run game to be successful, it all starts at the fullback position in Geovanny Adan. Offensive lineman Spencer Wilson looks to open some holes for the Pelham run game.

On defense, the secondary is led by Jeremy Ross. The CB/S will need to keep Haywood in check for the Panthers defense to be successful. Senior Austin Barkley anchors the defensive line for the Panthers.
