Game Notes: The key to this game will be if Coach Anderson can get some new wrinkles out of his offense. Both teams know each other so well, that it might take a new wrinkle for the Rebels to crack the Hoover defense. In week #5, Hoover defeated Vestavia Hills 17-7. The Hoover defense kept the Rebels offense in check and created short fields for the Hoover offense. Even though Hoover didn't take advantage of the field position, it kept the Rebels deep in their own territory for much of the night. The Rebels decided not to punt to all-state corner Marlon Humphrey and shanked a few kicks out of bounds that setup the good field position for Hoover. Hoover holds 28 consecutive victories dating back to last season. For Hoover to continue the streak, the Bucs passing game must keep improving each week. Hutcheson had a couple of big TD throws to Justin Johnson and Alex Elam against Florence last week. RB Kris Parker is a key weapon out for the Bucs tonight and will be missed by the offense. Parker made a great over the shoulder catch against Vestavia Hills earlier in the season. The Bucs need to get TE Cooper Carden involved in the pass game as well. Vestavia Head coach Buddy Anderson is going after his 309th career victory. With the win, it would tie him for the most all-time coaching victories in Alabama high school football history. Earlier in the year, Coach Anderson won his 300th win.
