Game 1 – R2 #4 Dothan at R1 #1 Foley

Game Notes – Dothans' last playoff appearance came in 2019. Both teams played Baker this season as Dothan defeated Baker 43-15 while Foley lost to Baker 56-35. Dothan has one of the most dynamic players in 7A in two-way player Raymon Blackmon. On the season, Blackmon has 1,136 yards on 130 carries and 19 touchdowns with 14 receptions for 295 yards. On defense as a defensive back, he has two interceptions on the season. Wolverines first-year head coach Jed Kennedy is coming off a one-week suspension for shoving down a Dothan volunteer assistant coach. Tamerion Peterson is another big-play running back for the Wolves. Foley is making their first trip back to playoffs since 2015. Their only region loss was to Baker. Quarterback Reece Tynes has completed 184-of-292 for 2,153 yards with 21 touchdowns, six interceptions, 232 yards on 55 carries, and five touchdowns on the season. Running back Kolton Nero is a big weapon for the Foley offense. Against Davidson, Nero rushed for 178 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Harrison Knight is another solid player for the Foley offense. Alabama commit defensive back Perry Thompson can also turn into a receiver during big games this season. Look for him to play some offense on Friday night, and he does an excellent job stretching the defense with the deep pass.

Game #2 – R1 #3 Fairhope at R2 #2 Auburn

Game Notes – Fairhope comes into this game making their sixth straight playoff appearance. Fairhope reeled off five consecutive wins to start the season but finished 3-2 overall in the second half of the season. Caden Creel had a big regular season for the Pirates. On week two, the senior QB completed 20-of-30 passing for 324 yards & 2 TDs with 114 yards on 14 carries & TD vs Choctawhatchee. Last week against Briarwood Christian, Creel finished 28-of-30 passing for 179 yards & two touchdowns with 152 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. For the season, Creel has completed 142-of-216 passes for 1,689 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with 1,059 yards on 159 carries and six touchdowns. Running back Qualin McCants is coming off an injury, and Preston Godfrey took over the rushing attack. McCants has 546 yards on 108 carries and 15 touchdowns, while Godfrey has 499 yards on 88 carries and nine touchdowns. Wide receiver Ben Mosley has 57 receptions for 674 yards and four touchdowns on the season. Middle linebacker Cory Devole leads the team with 91 tackles on the season. Auburn had only one loss on the season, but it came from cross-town rival Central-Phenix City. Auburn plays two quarterbacks Clyde Pittman and Davis Harsin. Pittman has completed 92-of-136 for 1,243 yards with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions on the season. Running back DV Williams has 830 yards on 132 carries and 12 touchdowns on the season. Tyler Flakes is another solid running back for the Tigers. In the first game of the season against Hoover, safety Graham Young recorded 14 total tackles, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Game #3 – R1 #4 Mary Montgomery at R2 #1 Central-Phenix City

Game Notes – Mary Montgomery is coming into the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. These are exciting times for the Vikings football team. Quarterback Jared Hollins has thrown for over 2,000 yards this season. The junior QB has completed 148-of-213 for 2,155 yards with 23 touchdowns and only three interceptions with 261 yards on 49 carries and five touchdowns. Hollins has completed 69.5 percent of his passes this season. Wide receiver James Bolton had a big regular season with 64 receptions for 1,304 yards and 14 touchdowns. Running back Keshun Johnson has 1,25 all-purpose yards for the Vikings this season. Central-Phenix City has won four straight games coming into the playoffs knocking off their cross-town rivals Auburn 38-17. QB Jaylen Epps has completed 134-of-226 passes for 1,899 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions on the season. Epps has rushed for 580 yards on 153 carries and 14 touchdowns. Running backs Romello Green and Zach Simmons lead the way for the Red Devils. Central could have the best three receivers in the state with Karmello English, Cameron Coleman, and Jared Wiley. On defense, defensive lineman Tomarrion Parker stuffs the run, and Georgia commit  AJ Harris shuts down one-half of the field.

Game 4 – R2 #3 Enterprise at R1 #2 Baker

Game Notes – Enterprise comes into this game with five straight playoff appearances. Dual quarterback Aiden White leads the way for the Wildcats’ offense. White has completed 86-of-147 passes for 1,467 yards with 20 touchdowns, 333 yards on 51 carries, and four touchdowns on the season. Running backs Amare Griffen and Mykel Johnson lead the way for the Enterprise ground attack. Johnson has 366 yards on 50 carries and six touchdowns, with 27 receptions for 540 yards and seven touchdowns. Johnson is a big special team player for the Wildcats. Johnson has 450 yards of kick returns with three touchdowns and 94 yards of punt returns. Also, Johnson is averaging 35 yards per punt on the season. Griffen has 665 yards on 134 carries, seven touchdowns, and 78 yards on five receptions and two touchdowns. This will be three straight years that Baker has made the playoffs. Baker has quarterback Josh Flowers leading the way for the Hornets. Flowers has completed 100-of-157 passes for 1,360 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions, with 1,205 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season. Roderick Taylor has rushed for 500 yards on 84 carries and three touchdowns on the season. Senior Gary Byers leads the Hornets in tackles with 109 on the season.

Game #5 – R4 #4 Bob Jones at R3 #1 Hoover

Game Notes – Bob Jones comes into the game on making the playoffs in two straight years. The Patriots are 0-6 in their last six first-round games. Bob Jones has one of the top offensive players in the state. Quarterback Rayshawn Hardy has completed 125-of-214 passes for 1,637 yards with ten touchdowns and 1,378 yards on 181 carries and 16 touchdowns. Hardy has two receptions, with one going for a touchdown, and as the defensive back, he has an interception. Wide receiver KJ Fields is a dynamic receiver that can stretch the field or go in the middle of the field for a big reception. This is the Hoover Bucs’ 23rd straight playoff appearance. Hoover has one of the best defenses in Alabama. Linebackers Bradley Shaw and Kaleb Jackson are the best in the state. The Bucs’ run game has been consistent all year long. Running backs AJ Williams , and LaMarion McCammon is very good. The quarterback position has been a wild ride this season for the Bucs’ offense. Freshman Jonah Winston started the season against Auburn, but senior Brewer Smith came into the game in the second half to lead the Bucs. He started a few weeks before an injury, and junior Brody Stacey played. He was out with an injury, and now freshman Noah Schuback leads the Bucs offense. Schuback has completed 26-of-46 passing for 262 yards and two touchdowns in three starts. Smith is trying to get healthy to make his way back on the field. Smith has completed 75-of-132 passes for 779 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receivers KJ Law and Jordan Woolen lead the Bucs’ receivers.

Game #6 – R3 #3 Hewitt-Trussville at R4 #2 Florence

Game Notes – Hewitt-Trussville comes into the playoffs with their third straight appearance. The Huskies have quarterback Peyton Floyd who is the key for the Hewitt-Trussville offense. Floyd has completed 163-of-233 passes for 2,130 yards with 22 touchdowns and only four interceptions with 580 yards on 153 carries and 14 touchdowns. With Floyd on offense are running back Jaqson Melton and wide receiver Jordan Loving. The Huskies defense is excellent. Alabama-commit defensive lineman Hunter Osborne is having a great season. Osborne played on the offensive line earlier against Thompson this season. Tennessee commit Rickey Gibson is a lockdown corner. No team has been successful in throwing his way this season. Florence has quarterback Neal Glover leading the Falcons’ offense. Glover has completed 74-of-134 passes for 1,090 yards with nine touchdowns, three interceptions, and 679 rushing yards with ten touchdowns. Kicker Chandler Dixon has been a weapon for the Falcons’ offense. Alabama commit Jahlil Hurley has been solid for the Falcons all season.

Game #7 – R3 #4 Vestavia Hills at R4 #1 Austin

Game Notes – Vestavia Hills is making a trip back to the playoffs for the first time since 2019, along with Rebels first-year head coach Robert Evans. John Paul Head, at quarterback, leads the Rebels offense. The dual-style QB is having a terrific season. Head has completed 113-of-196 passes for 1,461 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions with 983 yards on 131 carries and 19 touchdowns on the season. Keown Richardson is the leading pass receiver for the Rebels. Linebacker Jordan Ross can rush the passer with the best of them. Austin missed the playoffs last year, but returned as the #1 seed in region four this season. De’Air Young leads the Black Bears offense. Young has completed 76-of-151 passes for 1,009 yards with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions with 847 yards on 138 carries and eight touchdowns.

Game 8 – R4 #3 Huntsville at R3 #2 Thompson

Game Notes – Huntsville is returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Quarterback Jack Mcclung leads the Panthers’ offense. Mcclung has completed 145-of-233 passes for 1,676 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Carlin Long is one of the best running backs in region four. Long has 1,425 yards on 219 carries and 15 touchdowns. Thompson, the defending 7A champions, has one of the best defenses in the state. Clemson commit defensive lineman Peter Woods is probably the best player in the state. Alabama commit defensive back Tony Mitchell can play corner or safety. Running back AJ Green has rushed for 908 yards on 135 carries on 12 touchdowns. Wide receiver Korbyn Williams has 40 receptions for 420 yards on five touchdowns. The Warriors have played two quarterbacks this season. Junior Zach Sims has completed 93-of-153 passes for 1,221 yards with six touchdowns and six interceptions, while eighth-grader Trent Seaborn has completed 36-of-56 passes for 524 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions.
